Crown the greatest bachata song.
16 of the most popular bachata songs — classics and current — go head to head. Listen to two at a time, pick the one you'd rather dance to, and crown Grand Rapids's all-time favorite.
What is Bachata Madness?
It's March Madness — for songs. We took 16 of the most popular bachata songs — the timeless anthems and the current hits — and dropped them into a bracket. They face off two at a time, and every dancer fills out their own. The winners you pick advance, round by round, until one song is left standing.
How it works
Listen
Tap play on each of the two songs. No need to know them beforehand — that's the point.
Pick
Choose the one you'd rather dance to. Your winner advances.
Advance
Keep going, round by round — 16 to 8 to 4 to 2 to 1 — with a progress bar the whole way.
Crown
See your finished bracket and the song you crowned your champion.
Who wins
Every bracket is a vote. We add them all up to crown Grand Rapids's favorite bachata song of all time, decided by the dancers — not a chart.
What it costs
Nothing — it's free to play. Save your bracket to lock it in and enter the draw for the prize pack.
Finish your bracket and save it to enter the draw to win:
- ◆2 passes to a WMLD social at 5th Street Hall
- ◆2 skip-the-line passes to Candela at Ashton (each with $5 off a cocktail)
- ◆2 tickets to Dr. Grins
Good to know
Do I need an account?
No — you can play the whole bracket without one. You only sign in (free, one tap with your email) if you want to save it and enter to win and see the final champion.
How is the winner decided?
Everyone's picks count as votes. The song with the most support across all brackets wins — so it's the community's champion, not one person's.
How long does it take?
About 3 minutes. It's 15 quick choices, two songs at a time.
Can I change my picks?
Your bracket saves as you go, so you can pick up where you left off, and start over any time before voting closes.
Who's behind it?
Bachata Madness is run by West Michigan Latin Dance, powered by DanceSeekers.
